This is a fixed rule table, not a guess. Answer four questions and it returns one base layer, one mid layer and one shell, with the reason each was chosen, the total weight you would carry and the total packed volume.

• Choose cycling and it returns only pieces graded suitable for cycling — nothing cut for standing upright, however warm.
• Choose persistent rain and it says plainly, before showing anything, that none of these garments is an answer to it.
• It never outputs a temperature figure, because no standard makes one meaningful.
